How can we help you?
Everything you need to know about IPOs and Grey Market Premium.
What is IPO Grey Market Premium (GMP)?
The GMP is the price at which IPO shares trade in the unregulated, over-the-counter market before their official listing on the stock exchange. It indicates the expected premium or discount upon listing.
How are estimated Listing Gains calculated?
Listing gain is typically estimated as: (GMP + Upper Price Band) - Upper Price Band. This is then expressed as a percentage of the Upper Price Band. This is an estimate, not a guarantee.
Where can I check the official Allotment Status?
You must check the official allotment status on the website of the Registrar to the IPO (e.g., KFin Technologies, Link Intime) or on the BSE/NSE websites. We provide direct links to these sites on the detail pages after the IPO closing date.
What is 'Kostak Rate' in the Grey Market?
Kostak rate is the maximum amount an investor receives by selling their entire IPO application (not the shares) in the grey market before the allotment is finalized, regardless of whether they receive an allotment or not.
Is IPO GMP data reliable?
GMP data is indicative and based purely on unregulated market sentiment. It is NOT official and should be used only for informational purposes. Market conditions can change rapidly between the GMP update and the actual listing date.
What is the difference between Mainboard and SME IPOs?
Mainboard IPOs are for larger companies and are listed on the main exchanges (BSE/NSE). SME IPOs are for Small and Medium Enterprises and are listed on the dedicated SME platforms. SME IPOs typically have much higher lot sizes and different regulations.
