Tata Sons Private Limited serves as the principal investment holding company and promoter for all Tata Group enterprises, India’s largest conglomerate founded over 155 years ago. The company commands a unique governance architecture anchored by philanthropy: philanthropic trusts endowed by the Tata family—primarily the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and Sir Ratan Tata Trust (collectively known as Tata Trusts)—hold an aggregate 66% stake in Tata Sons. The Shapoorji Pallonji (SP) Group, helmed by Shapoorji Pallonji Mistry, represents the second-largest shareholder with an 18.37% equity interest.
