Lotus Petal Charitable Foundation Social Stock Exchange Issue Opens Today; ₹1 Crore Fundraise to Support Education for Underserved Children

Lotus Petal Charitable Foundation has officially opened its public issue on the BSE Social Stock Exchange (SSE) today, July 20, 2026. The organisation is raising ₹1 crore through the issuance of Zero Coupon Zero Principal (ZCZP) Instruments, a unique fundraising mechanism introduced for registered non-profit organisations on India's Social Stock Exchange. The issue will remain open until July 31, 2026, with the expected listing scheduled during August 2026.

Unlike conventional IPOs, the Lotus Petal Charitable Foundation issue does not involve equity shares or ownership in the organisation. Investors subscribe to ZCZP Instruments, which are designed exclusively for social impact. These instruments carry no coupon, no interest, and no repayment of principal, allowing contributors to directly support high-impact social initiatives through a transparent and regulated capital market platform.

The issue has been priced at a face value of ₹1,000 per instrument, with a minimum investment of ₹1,000, making it accessible to both individual and institutional impact investors. Subscribers are also eligible for Section 80G tax benefits, while recent regulatory changes have made eligible investments through Social Stock Exchange instruments permissible under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) spending for qualifying companies.

Founded in 2011, Lotus Petal Charitable Foundation has spent over fifteen years working to improve the lives of children from economically weaker sections through integrated programmes focusing on quality education, nutritious meals, healthcare, digital learning, skill development, and livelihood support. The foundation currently operates one of the region's largest holistic education campuses while also extending its programmes through digital education initiatives across multiple Indian states.

According to the issue documents, the entire fundraising initiative has been structured to sponsor the complete education of 160 underserved children studying at the Lotus Petal Senior Secondary School in Dhunela, Gurugram. The funds will cover tuition fees, textbooks, uniforms, transportation, digital learning resources, breakfast, lunch, healthcare support, and extracurricular development, ensuring that students receive uninterrupted education throughout the academic year.

The organisation follows a holistic education model that extends beyond classroom learning. Along with academic instruction, students receive vocational training, personality development, career guidance, digital literacy, and employability skills. This integrated approach is intended to prepare children not only for higher education but also for sustainable employment opportunities and long-term financial independence.

One of the foundation's major achievements has been the expansion of its digital learning platform, which now supports thousands of students across hundreds of schools in multiple Indian states. Through live interactive teaching programmes, teacher training, and technology-enabled education, Lotus Petal Foundation has significantly increased its outreach beyond its physical campus.

The public issue represents another important milestone for India's Social Stock Exchange ecosystem. Since its launch, the SSE has created a transparent fundraising platform for non-profit organisations by enabling them to access regulated capital markets while maintaining high standards of governance, accountability, and impact reporting. The successful participation of organisations such as Lotus Petal Charitable Foundation is expected to encourage greater adoption of social investing across India.

Investor interest has strengthened following recent policy developments that recognize subscriptions to Social Stock Exchange ZCZP Instruments as an eligible avenue for CSR contributions. This regulatory change has increased participation from corporates, philanthropic institutions, family offices, and socially conscious investors looking to support measurable development projects through regulated financial markets.

Education experts believe that improving foundational education, nutrition, and skill development remains one of India's most effective long-term investments. Organisations working at the grassroots level continue to play an important role in reducing school dropout rates, improving employability, and supporting socio-economic mobility among underserved communities. The fundraising initiative by Lotus Petal Charitable Foundation aligns closely with these national development priorities.

With the issue now open for subscription until July 31, 2026, Lotus Petal Charitable Foundation has emerged as one of the notable offerings on the BSE Social Stock Exchange this month. The ₹1 crore fundraising programme reflects the growing maturity of India's impact investing ecosystem and provides investors with an opportunity to directly contribute toward improving education and holistic development for underserved children through a transparent, regulated platform.
