Devson Catalyst IPO Opens Tomorrow; Specialty Catalyst Manufacturer Targets ₹42.34 Crore Through BSE SME Issue

Devson Catalyst Limited is preparing to open its Initial Public Offering (IPO) for public subscription on July 9, 2026, with the issue remaining open until July 13, 2026. The company plans to raise ₹42.34 crore through a book-built issue comprising a fresh issue of approximately ₹39.39 crore along with an Offer for Sale (OFS) worth around ₹2.95 crore by existing shareholders. The shares are proposed to be listed on the BSE SME platform, with the tentative listing scheduled for July 16, 2026.

The IPO has been priced in the range of ₹112 to ₹118 per equity share. Investors can apply for a minimum of two lots consisting of 2,400 shares, translating into a minimum investment of approximately ₹2.83 lakh at the upper end of the price band. The anchor investor portion is expected to be completed ahead of the public issue, reflecting institutional participation before the subscription opens.

Devson Catalyst is a specialized manufacturer of industrial catalysts, adsorbents, and ceramic balls, products that are widely used in petroleum refineries, petrochemical complexes, fertilizer plants, steel manufacturing units, natural gas processing facilities, and various chemical industries. These products play an important role in improving production efficiency, enhancing chemical reactions, reducing operational costs, and increasing plant reliability across multiple industrial applications.

The company operates its manufacturing facility in Surendranagar, Gujarat, with an installed production capacity of over 6,200 metric tonnes per annum. Besides serving domestic customers, Devson Catalyst also exports its products to international markets, helping diversify its revenue base and strengthen its presence in the global catalyst industry.

According to the company's offer documents, the largest portion of the IPO proceeds will be utilized for establishing a new manufacturing unit, enabling Devson Catalyst to expand production capacity and cater to growing demand from domestic as well as overseas customers. Additional funds will be deployed towards working capital requirements, while the remaining proceeds will support general corporate purposes. These investments are expected to enhance manufacturing capabilities and improve long-term operational efficiency.

Financially, Devson Catalyst has reported impressive growth during FY2026. The company recorded revenue of approximately ₹55.78 crore, representing a growth of more than 28% over the previous financial year. Even more noteworthy was the company's profitability, with profit after tax increasing by over 200% to ₹12.52 crore, reflecting improved operational performance, stronger margins, and increasing demand for its specialty industrial products.

India's specialty chemicals and catalyst industry continues to benefit from rising investments in refining, petrochemicals, fertilizers, hydrogen production, and clean energy projects. Increasing industrial capacity additions, import substitution initiatives, and growing export opportunities are creating favorable conditions for manufacturers supplying high-performance catalysts and process materials. Industry experts believe companies with specialized manufacturing capabilities are well positioned to benefit from these long-term trends.

Market sentiment ahead of the IPO has remained encouraging. Grey market activity has commenced ahead of the issue opening, indicating growing investor interest in the offering. While unofficial market premiums may fluctuate until listing and should not be considered a guarantee of listing performance, they generally reflect prevailing market expectations before subscription begins.

One of the company's key strengths is its diversified customer base across industries such as oil & gas, refining, fertilizers, petrochemicals, chemicals, and steel manufacturing. The technical nature of catalyst manufacturing creates relatively high entry barriers, requiring specialized research, quality control, and manufacturing expertise. This enables established players like Devson Catalyst to maintain long-term customer relationships and secure repeat business from industrial clients.

However, investors should also evaluate certain business risks before investing. The company operates from a single manufacturing facility, making business continuity dependent on uninterrupted plant operations. Additionally, fluctuations in raw material prices, customer concentration, supplier dependency, and changing industrial demand could affect future financial performance. Efficient execution of the proposed capacity expansion and continued product innovation will remain important for sustaining long-term growth.

The Devson Catalyst IPO has emerged as one of the notable SME public issues scheduled for this week alongside several other manufacturing-sector offerings. With strong earnings growth, plans for capacity expansion, increasing opportunities in India's specialty chemicals sector, and growing investor attention ahead of subscription, market participants will closely monitor anchor participation, subscription levels, and overall demand once the issue opens on July 9, 2026.
